Unveiling of 52 models of a combined design of primary care clinics for 47 Counties in Kenya
Students and faculty at the Texas A&M University’s College of Architecture will be showcasing 52 models of a combined design of primary care clinics, retail and community education centers for 47 Counties in Kenya.
Ustawi Biomedical Research Innovation and Industrial Centers of Africa commissioned the combined design as a project for building Sustainable One-Health Communities (SOHCS) in Africa, in response to lack of infrastructure for delivery of care, a grand challenge in global health.
Members of faculty and students at the College of Architecture worked tirelessly in a joint studio involving three different groups, two from the Department of Architecture, and one from the Department of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning.
The combined team was led by Prof. George Mann, Prof. Chanam Lee, Dr. Zhipeng Lu. and Dr. Macharia Waruingi.
We cordially invite you to the unveiling of the designs, which will take place in the College of Architecture Langford Bldg "B" Exhibit Hall on Wednesday, February, 17, 2016 from 8 am - 5 pm.
